When do I have to file by?

In most cases, your tax return is due on April 15, 2025. Additional penalties and interest may apply if you file after April 15. See “What happens if I file my state return after the 4/15 deadline?” for more information.

IRS Direct File and FileYourStateTaxes are expected to be open until mid-October 2025 for late and extended filings.
