What New Jersey credits and deductions does FileYourStateTaxes not support currently?
Here are the credits and deductions that are not currently supported:
- Subtraction for meals, lodging, moving expenses, other reimbursed business expenses, or compensation for injuries or sickness reported as wages on your W-2
- Subtraction for alimony payments you made
- Pension income exclusion for taxpayers who will never be eligible for Social Security (“Special Exclusion”)
- Deductions for NJBEST 529 college savings accounts contributions, or for higher education tuition costs
- Deduction for interest paid on an NJCLASS student loan
- Deduction for qualified conservation contributions
- Deduction for health enterprise zones
- Gold Star Family Counseling Credit
- Credit for Employer of Organ/Bone Marrow Donor
- Wounded Warrior Caregivers Credit
We also do not support:
- Applying for an extension
- Making charitable contributions to various NJ organizations through your return
- Filing your federal and state tax returns using different filing statuses (for example you filed as Married Filing Jointly on your federal tax return and want to file Married Filing Separately on your state tax return)
- Adding or removing dependents claimed on your federal return for purposes of your state return
- Applying a portion of your 2024 refund toward your 2025 estimated taxes
